Vice President of the Community Foundation Kate Adie OBE is supporting the Suviving Winter campaign. She said:
“We are delighted at the fantastic response that we have received so far for our Surviving Winter Campaign but we still have a long way to go to make a real difference. We are continuing to urge those that are in receipt of the winter fuel payment but do not need it and the wider public to donate to our Surviving Winter campaign to support older and vulnerable people in the local area this winter.”
Apply
As the winter progresses we will be working with National Energy Action (NEA) to support people out of fuel poverty using the money we have raised by going directly to our local community and voluntary groups that work with people in fuel poverty every day. The community and voluntary groups will also benefit from a hardship grant that can be distributed to any individual or individuals that use the organisations services.
If you are interested in working with NEA to offer a workshop to help users at your community or voluntary group out of fuel poverty, and to gain access to hardship funding click on the links below to download an expression of interest form and guidance notes.

About National Energy Action
National Energy Action (NEA) is the UK’s leading national fuel poverty charity. It has helped thousands of vulnerable households directly, and millions indirectly, to escape from fuel poverty. NEA celebrates 30 years of assisting fuel poor households during 2011. It is recognised by Government, industry, the media and local communities as the leading expert on fuel poverty. NEA undertakes a range of activities including campaigning; practical research into new solutions to fuel poverty and developing qualifications to improve the quality of energy advice.
NEA recognises that the most successful way of reaching and helping vulnerable households is to work with trusted community groups that have regular contact with vulnerable people. By working with the Community Foundation and developing local projects in this way, NEA is able to reach many more fuel poor households than the charity would have been able to otherwise.
