About The Taylor Fund

The Taylor Fund was established in 2005 by the Estate of Mr. Francis William Taylor, whose legacy was in-part to provide educational bursaries to residents of, and those with close ties to, the Parish of Newbottle in Sunderland.

Who does the fund support

  • Individuals are invited to apply for a grant of up to £1,000 to support their educational studies.
  • Grants may cover course fees, travel costs, course materials, books, and equipment.
  • Applicants are encouraged to clearly show how a grant will support and/or enhance their educational needs.
  • Applicants must demonstrate their connections or close ties to the Parish of Newbottle.
  • The Fund will support applicants for a maximum of three years.

How to apply

Although this is a rolling programme, successful applicants will be supported on a first-come, first-served basis, due to the restricted amount of funding available for educational bursaries each year.

The Fund will not support any request for funding for items that are deemed to be the responsibility of statutory services in any circumstances, in line with the grant-making policies of the Community Foundation.
