For over 30 years we’ve been helping people like you through all the sensitivities of deciding how best to make a difference. We can help you make a unique and lasting tribute to your community, creating a named fund in perpetuity, which reflects your personal wishes.

 

By leaving a gift in your will to the Community Foundation North East you can create your own legacy, helping your community, and the causes you care about, for generations to come.

 

It doesn’t matter how large or small the bequest is, we have a range of fund and gifting options to choose from. Case Study: Steve and Christine Convey Fund

A major donation of £3m from the estate of the late Steve and Christine Convey has created a new fund at Community Foundation North East dedicated to helping people find pathways to opportunity and employment.

 

Steve and his brother Peter built Convey Bros from humble beginnings into a successful window cleaning business which still thrives today. Christine sadly died in December 2023 and, unfortunately, she had already endured not only the loss of her husband, Steve, but also their two sons Adam and Lee. Before they died, the Convey family lived in Darras Hall, Ponteland.

 

Following Christine’s death, the three executors of the family estate decided that the assets should be used to help others in the community have the chance to pursue a life of opportunity, especially those who have run into barriers in their lives.

With a named fund, you may choose to tailor the impact and focus of your legacy, specifying the exact issues or geographic areas you wish to support through your gift. We will ensure that your generosity is channelled exactly where and how you envisaged.

Or you may choose to leave its focus to our experienced team. Using our research and extensive local knowledge, our team will ensure that your gift is directed towards addressing the most pressing issues. Your legacy becomes a force for comprehensive change, expertly guided by those who understand the local landscape.

Can I nominate a particular charity that will benefit?

Yes, you can choose to nominate a particular charity, or multiple charities, that you wish to benefit from your gift. It’s natural to worry that the charity you wish to support might no longer exist when your will takes effect. However, by using our expertise to source an alternative charity, we can ensure that your generous gift continues to benefit the causes and areas that matter to you, even if a specific organisation evolves or ceases to exist.

Will my gift unlock Tax Benefits?
