Funding through the Newcastle Culture Investment Fund (NCIF) is available to charities and community organisations in Newcastle who want to engage residents to participate in creative activities.
Alongside the core funding offered to organisations on a multi-year basis, there is also at least £90,000 made available per financial year for projects and programmes.
Jo Cundall, Senior Advisor, Culture at the Community Foundation and Fund Manager for NCIF said:
“We welcome applications from organisations looking for grants from NCIF this financial year or next. We have £22,000 available for projects to be completed by April 2024 and for those organisations looking to plan ahead, they are invited to apply for 2024/25. Both are open for applications now.
“If you are planning an arts project in Newcastle to take place in that timeframe, please do get in touch to discuss whether it could be eligible.”
The fund has already made ten grants this year to a range of creative projects. These include Curious Arts to support their LGBTQAI+ youth arts activity group, Pendower Good Neighbourhood Project for four outdoor art projects and The Ouseburn Trust for artistic programming at the Ouseburn Festival. Grants made range from £4,000 up to £12,000.
All the projects make a case for support to show how they are contributing to the cultural strategy for the city. More information about that can be found here.
