Community Foundation North East has refreshed its Vital Signs Summary, which takes pulse of the biggest issues affecting communities across the region.
In 2024, Community Foundation North East published a suite of detailed reports exploring ten key themes including economy, education, health and justice. Since then, major political changes nationally and regionally have reshaped the public policy landscape and new challenges have emerged around cohesion and inclusion in some of our communities.
In response, Community Foundation North East has produced a short stock take to reflect on what has changed, what remains the same and how philanthropy can continue to respond effectively. The refreshed summary includes updated statistics comparing levels of need in the North East with the rest of the UK, making it a valuable reference for anyone working to address local challenges and unlock opportunities.
Hannah Mackay-Christie, Senior Policy Advisor at Community Foundation North East, said:
“Vital Signs is more than a report, it’s a conversation starter. We want to help people understand the issues facing our region and how they can make a difference. This refresh is about keeping that conversation current and relevant, especially as the policy and social landscape continues to shift”.
Vital Signs remains an open invitation to collaborate. Community Foundation North East welcomes opportunities to discuss the findings in more detail and explore how collective action can strengthen communities across the region.
