Nils Stronach
Nils is responsible for ensuring the consistency and effectiveness of the foundation’s grant-making practice across all funds. He also oversees and manages the team working on discretionary funds held by the Foundation, community benefit funds and funding programmes with our charity and public sector funding partners regionally and nationally to deliver grantmaking in line with their wishes.
Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Nils spent over six years as a Funding Officer at the Big Lottery Fund, where he worked on a range of programmes and visited projects across England from Durham to the Isles of Scilly. Nils also worked at the Tyneside Foyer in Newcastle for three years, managing the ESF-funded IT Centre, and was a lecturer in IT at Sunderland University and Sunderland College.
Nils holds an MSc in Grantmaking, Philanthropy and Social Investment from Bayes Business School.
