About Nadara Sisters and North Steads Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

Nadara Sisters and North Steads Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund established in 2018 supports applications from a minimum of £1,000 and up to £20,000 for both capital and revenue funding from charities and voluntary groups that offer services for the residents of the wind farm area (within 5km of the wind farm):

  • advice and support for families, carers and those experiencing hardships,
  • environmental projects,
  • development of local amenities, including renewable energy installation on/ in community buildings
  • education and training provision, especially support for apprentices/apprenticeships
  • community activities and events,
  • healthy living activities,
  • sport and physical activity provision
  • arts, culture and heritage projects,

Examples of what grants can support

Examples of what grants can support include:

  • capital items (buildings, renewable energy, machinery, equipment, vehicles and tools etc.);
  • community and environmental projects;
  • supporting people from the priority area to take-up or continue apprenticeships and/ or training opportunities
  • revenue requests ( salary, project costs, core cost of the organisation);
  • sessional worker costs, e.g. workshops, tutors;
  • repairs and/or refurbishment to community buildings;
  • start-up costs for new community groups;
  • out-of-school activities;
  • voluntary and community group activities;

This list is not exhaustive, and all applications will be given due consideration by the advisory panel
