RWE Renewables Middlemoor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

RWE Renewables Middlemoor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund consider applications for both capital and revenue funding from individuals, charities and voluntary groups that are of benefit to the residents of Eglingham Parish.  

Applicants can apply for grants of between £250 to £81,000 for organisations, and up to £2,000 for individuals. 

  • Priority consideration will be given to applications from individuals, groups, projects, and activities based within the Parish of Eglingham. 
  • Consideration will also be given to applications from groups and organisations outside of Eglingham Parish which provide services and activities that are deemed by the Fund to be of benefit to residents of the Parish. 

Applications will be considered for: 

  • both capital and revenue funding. 
  • requests that are charitable, educational, philanthropic, and benevolent in purpose. 
  • grants to community groups, voluntary/charitable organisations, and schools (for non-statutory purposes only). 
  • capital items, which have tangible lasting benefit, including improvements to community buildings. 
  • other projects which are community based and/or community led.

RWE Kiln Pit Hill Wind Farm

The RWE Renewables Kiln Pit Hill Windfarm Community Fund at the Community Foundation has a minimum allocation of £15,000 for grants to voluntary and community projects based in and those supporting the residents of the Parish of Shotley Low Quarter.  

Applicants can apply for a minimum of £250 up to the maximum funds available in the fund year. 

  • Priority consideration will be given to applications from groups, projects and activities based within the Parish of Shotley Low Quarter. 
  • Consideration will also be given to applications from groups and organisations outside of the Parish of Shotley Low Quarter, which provide services and activities that are deemed by the Fund to be of benefit to residents of the Parish. 

Applications will be considered for: 

  • both capital and revenue funding. 
  • requests that are charitable, educational, philanthropic, and benevolent in purpose. 
  • grants to community groups, voluntary/charitable organisations, and schools (for non-statutory purposes only). 
  • capital items, which have tangible lasting benefit, including improvements to community buildings.

EDF RE Green Rigg Wind Farm

EDF RE Green Rigg Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund will consider applications for both capital and revenue funding from individuals, charities and voluntary groups that are of benefit to the residents living within 10-mile radii of the wind farm.  

Applicants can apply for grants between £250 and £5,000, and up to £9,000 in exceptional circumstances. 

  • Priority consideration will be given to applications from groups, projects and activities based within a 10-mile radius of the wind farm. 
  • Consideration will also be given to applications from groups and organisations outside of the 10-mile radius, which provide services and activities that are deemed by the Fund to be of benefit to residents of the Parish. 

Applications will be considered for: 

  • Capital items that will have a long lasting benefit;  
  • Play equipment, items for leisure activities and community groups; 
  • Biodiversity and habitat conservation; 
  • Energy conservation and increased use of renewables;  
  • Community trips and events; 
  • Start-up costs for new groups.

EDF RE Barmoor Wind Farm

The EDF Energy Renewables Barmoor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund accepts applications from voluntary and community projects based within a ten km radius of the Barmoor Wind Farm, with priority given to those within a five km radius.   Applicants can apply for a minimum of £250 up to £10,000, in exceptional circumstances applications of up to £20,000 may be considered 

  • Priority consideration will be given to applications from groups, projects and activities based within a 10-mile radius of the wind farm. 
  • Consideration will also be given to applications from groups and organisations outside of the 10-mile radius, which provide services and activities that are deemed by the Fund to be of benefit to residents of the Fund area of benefit. 

Applications will be considered for: 

  • capital items with a tangible, lasting benefit, including improvements to community buildings. 
  • running costs and revenue funding will be considered when there is clear evidence of need. 

Applicants must demonstrate at least one of the following: 

  • the proposed project is run by local people for local people.
  • they involve users on their management committee.
  • they engage as many people as possible, ensuring that users have a say in how the project is run. 
  • The proposed project meets identified local needs or issues.

EDF RE Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Wind Farm

The EDF RE Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund accepts applications from voluntary and community projects originating from within Blyth, Cambois, East Bedlington and Seaton Valley. Consideration will also be given to applications for funding originating from outside the Priority Area, provided that persons residing within the Priority Area may benefit from the approval. 

Applicants can apply for grants of between £750 and £10,000, in exceptional circumstances application will be considered for up to £20,000. 

Applications will be considered for:  

  • capital, activities, and development, i.e., community organisations to support capital, activities, and development 
  • access to training and /or educational activities for disadvantaged gifted and talented young people, i.e., individuals to allow people to take up training or education opportunities (i.e. cover transport or equipment costs) 
  • access to amateur sport or the arts for disadvantaged gifted and talented young people, e.g., opportunities in sport and the arts for gifted and talented young people 
  • sustainable development by the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration (Sustainable Development- development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability for future generations to meet their own needs), e.g., social enterprises to support the cost of start-up or expansion. The Fund will not support the core cost of continuing services.

Ventient Sisters and North Steads Wind Farm

The Ventient Sisters and North Steads Windfarm Community Benefit Fund accepts applications from voluntary and community projects originating from within a 5km radius of the two Wind FarmsConsideration will also be given to applications originating from outside the 5km radius of the wind farms that are deemed to benefit residents of the priority areas 

Applicants can apply for grants of between £750 and £20,000, normally for projects of up to one year’s duration. 

Applications will be considered for:  

  • advice and support for families, carers’ and those experiencing hardships; 
  • arts, culture, and heritage projects; 
  • community activities and events; 
  • development of local amenities; 
  • education and training provision, in particular support for apprenticeships; 
  • environmental projects;  
  • healthy living activities; 
  • sport and physical activity provision.
