Community Foundation North East celebrates generosity and community spirit at Northumberland in Spring reception

Community Foundation North East was pleased to welcome supporters, partners and friends to its Northumberland in Spring drinks reception at Hesleyside Hall, the historic family home of Anna and William Charlton.

The event brought together people from across the region to celebrate the generosity, philanthropy and community spirit that continue to strengthen communities across Northumberland and the wider North East.

Guests heard from newly appointed High Sheriff of Northumberland, Anna Charlton, who spoke passionately about the incredible work of community organisations across the county and the importance of supporting local communities and causes.

Community Foundation North East looks forward to working closely with Anna over the coming year to grow the Northumberland High Sheriff Awards fund and to continue supporting youth projects that make a meaningful difference in communities across the county.

Lord-Lieutenant Dr Caroline Pryer also reflected on the strength and resilience of Northumberland’s communities, sharing highlights from the Foundation’s recent Environment Conference and the inspiring work taking place to support people and places across the North East.

John Hollingsworth, Chief Philanthropy and Development Officer at Community Foundation North East, spoke about some of the Foundation’s key milestones over the past year, including its first parliamentary reception and the successful Homecoming celebration.

John Hollingsworth said:

“It was wonderful to bring together so many supporters and friends of the Foundation for an evening celebrating the generosity and community spirit that define our region. Over the past year, we’ve reached some significant milestones, from hosting our first parliamentary reception to celebrating our Homecoming event, and evenings like this are an important reminder of the partnerships and shared commitment that make this work possible.”

Thank you to Rathbones and Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP for supporting the event, and to Charlotte Kennedy for welcoming guests with a wonderful violin performance.

Special thanks also go to Anna and William Charlton for generously opening their home and hosting the reception.

Community Foundation North East is proud to continue working with individuals, businesses and organisations across the region to grow giving, strengthen communities and create lasting impact.
