The North East Giving Network, which enables donors to join together in support of local causes, has been expanded to businesses across the region. The new business membership offers companies an opportunity to involve their employees as part of a collective effort to support brilliant community organisations.
The Giving Network, launched by Community Foundation North East in 2019, has generated and distributed over £138k for local charities. To build on this impact, North East businesses are being invited to join with an annual donation from £1,000, which will also be matched with £1,000.
Blair West, a recruitment firm based in Newcastle city centre, has joined as the founding business member of the Giving Network. The company’s employees are raising funds through a 40km walk and other activities. Simon West, Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Blair West, said:
“We are proud to be working in partnership with Community Foundation North East to generate support for brilliant local causes. The Giving Network is a great opportunity for individuals and businesses to come together and make an impact in local communities. The Blair West team is excited to be the first business member and we look forward to other North East companies joining us.”
John Hollingsworth, Chief Philanthropy Officer at Community Foundation North East, said: “The North East Giving Network has proven to be an effective way to connect people who are interested in philanthropy closer to the impact of local community organisations. It can help inspire greater giving. For companies looking to make an impact locally while involving their staff, this new membership is a simple and powerful option. Our team is very experienced in working with North East businesses on their community impact and we will support business members of the Giving Network to achieve their goals.”
Congratulations to the Blair West team for completing their 40km walk from Hexham to the Quayside!
