The latest COVID-19 restrictions are bound to disrupt plans made as the lockdown was eased over the Summer. We know that groups will have concerns about grants that were made to fund activities that may not now go ahead as planned.
If you are a grantee in this position, we’d like to reassure you that:
- although some funds have specific rules that mean it is hard to re-purpose grants, we are generally very happy to discuss a change of use where your plans have had to change;
- it is very unlikely we will ever ask groups to repay grants where expenditure has been incurred in good faith on activities that have since had to be cancelled. In the unlikely event that grants do have to be repaid, we will always try and ensure that this is done in a way that does not cause your organisation financial problems;
- if you can’t achieve all your grant objectives due to the impact of COVID-19, we will judge the success of your grant on what you have been able to achieve
The important thing is to talk to us as soon as difficulties with the delivery of your projects arise. Please contact the fund manager referred to in your grant offer letter.
