Colette Harrison

Development Officer, Sector Support

Colette oversees the Community Foundation’s sector support work managing internal programmes including Trustee and Skills Match and brokers training and support from external partners.  

Colette began her career as Manager of Student Community Action at Durham University, before supporting young people’s volunteering more broadly in County Durham through the Millennium Volunteers programme. Colette then coordinated a consortium of volunteer-involving arts venues in Newcastle on behalf of Ouseburn Trust. As a consultant, Colette has supported volunteering initiatives throughout the region, including guiding the development of arts volunteering on behalf of Helix Arts.

Colette is a member of Grey College Advisory Board at Durham University, a student mentor and member of Grey College Trust; managing the allocation of funding to widen student opportunities. Prior to this, Colette was a trustee with Moving On Durham and Chair of Fertile Ground, Youth Action Network and National Council for Voluntary Youth Services. Colette also volunteers as a member of the events team with The Suzy Fund.
