Lucy Winskell OBE, LL, MBA, LLB, FRSA, Deputy Chair

Lucy is Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, His Majesty’s representative in the County, having taken up office in May 2022. Prior to that she was a Solicitor in private practice for 24 years, and subsequently Pro Vice-Chancellor at Northumbria University for 12 years. During her time at Northumbria, Lucy played a key role in the development of the University’s relationships with local government, the cultural sector and business, helping shape Northumbria’s contribution to regional economic, cultural and social development and graduate employment and particularly championing student and graduate start-ups. She is Chair of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, and Chair of Live Theatre and a trustee of the Centre for Life in Newcastle upon Tyne. Previously she chaired the Board of the North East Chamber of Commerce.
