The Community Foundation’s membership comprises voluntary groups, individuals, public bodies and businesses. Our Board of trustees has people drawn from all four membership groups plus co-optees. At our November 2019 AGM, we will have a vacancy for a voluntary sector member on the Board as Sally Young is retiring.
We are especially interested in people who can bring some of the following expertise to add to the current skills and knowledge mix within our Board of trustees:
- good understanding of charity governance and regulation
- knowledge of/networks in North Tyneside or South Tyneside;
- experience relating one or more of: housing and homelessness; the environment; community safety and community involvement;
- awareness of issues relating to grant-making, charitable giving or philanthropy;
- experience with ICT and digital developments.
Board of Trustees, September 2018
We are also especially keen to broaden the diversity of the Board, so welcome applications from people from black, Asian and other minority ethnic communities; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people; and people under 40.
To be eligible to stand for the vacancy, your organisation must be a member of the Community Foundation at the point the nomination is made. The formal process for nominations will open in October. But if you are not currently a member, you can find out about how to join here.
If you think you might be interested in standing and would like to know more, please contact me and I’d be happy to discuss the role further.
