Crowdfund Newcastle Culture match funds public support for great arts projects impacting the health and wellbeing of Newcastle residents.
The platform recently pledged £1,500 towards the successful Newcastle Noir Crime Writing Festival who reached their initial target of £3,000 with 12 days of the campaign remaining. The pledge from the Newcastle Culture Investment Fund recognised the commitment to an accessible, friendly festival where there was clear demand and support from their supporters and the public.
SEVEN Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books are eligible for 50% match from Crowdfund Newcastle Culture for their newly launched campaign to bring books and stories to life for North East children with additional needs. To secure the funding the public and their supporters must pledge the other 50% to demonstrate genuine demand and support from their community.
Other beneficiaries of the programme include; Lullaby Hour which provides regular live music sessions for very ill babies and children at the Children's Heart Unit, Freeman Hospital and a free weekly Cuckoo Young Songwriters Group.
