Port of Tyne Community Action Fund

The fund will support community projects in North and South Tyneside, Newcastle and Gateshead and the River Tyne corridor.

We welcome applications for projects which focus on:

1. Helping communities thrive, building stronger local communities through people and places

Examples of activities/projects that the Fund will support include:

  • Creating positive places and spaces for all to enjoy
  • Bringing people together
  • Improving the environment
  • Creating volunteering opportunities
  • Encouraging positive community life
  • Supporting activities within the community

2. Supporting children and young people to thrive

Examples of activities/projects that the Fund will support include:

  • Learning opportunities and activities
  • Supporting activities to reduce poverty
  • Improving health and encouraging play
  • Developing skills and confidence towards work

3. Improving health and wellbeing

Examples of activities/projects that the Fund will support include:

  • Improving mental health and wellbeing
  • Improving physical health and wellbeing

Applicants must show clearly how their project meets one or more of the Port of Tyne Community Action Fund aims.  

Grant range £750 up to £3,000

Deadline for applications

To be considered for the September 2019 meeting you must submit your application no later than Friday 9 August 2019.

All supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline.

Groups previously in receipt of a Community Foundation grant must ensure that any monitoring feedback due is submitted.
