About The Appletree Fund

We are inviting application to The Appletree Fund which has a broad criterion of offering support to charitable organisations providing activities that relieve issues around social isolation; providing opportunities for disadvantaged young people to thrive, or addressing issues linked to poverty and hardship.

Priority is given to organisations based in south-east Northumberland, Alnwick, or the west-end of Newcastle. Priority is given to activities taking place in south-east Northumberland; west-end Newcastle or Alnwick – this doesn’t exclude organisations based in other parts of Tyne & Wear or Northumberland from applying. We are keen to see applications for activities that:

  • encourage social interaction and support people to re-socialise following Covid19 restrictions
  • opportunities which enrich the experiences and raise aspiration in disadvantaged young people
  • support to provide relief to those experiencing poverty and hardship (food poverty; debt advise; homelessness issues)

Preference to support a full project cost rather than a contribution to a larger project involving multiple contributors. Project must be ready to start on receipt of this funding.
