We are again particularly interested in supporting the development of a peer mentor/navigation service, whereby schools and charities work in partnership to deliver work that inspires and informs a select group of young people about the options available to them, and then supports them to navigate their way ‘through the system’ towards a chosen career, training, and/or further education pathway.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to discuss their proposal with Community Foundation staff and representatives from the Readman family on Thursday 23 June 2022, with final decisions set to be communicated in July.
The Guy Readman Rising Stars Programme, one of a number of Funds established thanks to the generosity of Guy Readman OBE, will be making grants of up to £20,000 per year, over two years, to registered charities that support young people living in and around Newcastle from disadvantaged backgrounds who do not have sufficient backing at home to help them fulfil their potential.
