About the P&G Community Fund

The P&G Fund at the Community Foundation supports charitable organisations, based and working in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable people experiencing hardship and has two primary criteria:

Creating experiences of home by supporting those who have found themselves without safe accommodation and/or to provide a supported tenancy. A grant may cover:

• Informal learning sessions around running a home
• Running costs for charitable organisations providing safe accommodation (for example women’s refuges; hostels or young people’s emergency accommodation)
• Emergency food packages and/or household items to furnish supported accommodation (please note – does not include permanently giving personal furniture/soft furnishing items to an individual)
• Counselling for those experiencing trauma having been displaced from home

Everyday Health and Confidence – supporting those who are experiencing poverty to maintain their personal hygiene and dignity. A grant may cover:

• Hygiene packs
• Costs of running hygiene educational sessions
• Resources to provide showering facilities and/or clothes washing services for those who have no permanent access to hygiene provisions

In addition to the Community Foundation’s standard funding criteria (please refer to our website) the following applies:

• Organisations must have an annual income of under £1m
• Capital items purchased belong to the organisation and cannot be gifted to an individual permanently

Please note the application may be considered by other Community Foundation Funds
