About the Northumbrian Water Fund

The Northumbrian Water Fund at the Community Foundation is supporting grassroots organisations in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, around the themes of regeneration, social inclusion, education, wellbeing, employment, and the economy.

Organisations are invited to apply for a grant of between £750 and £2,000. Applications for project, capital, running and core costs are welcome.

As we are seeking to support grassroots organisations, applicants with an annual income of less than £50,000 will be prioritised for funding.

Although this is a rolling programme, applications will be considered by the Fund Advisors until the Fund has been spent out, and the call for applications will then be re-opened in the following financial year starting 1 April.

The Fund will not support any request for funding for items that are deemed to be the responsibility of statutory services in any circumstances, in line with the grant-making policies of the Community Foundation.

Social enterprises, community interest companies, and other non-charities should also take careful note of our application guidance notes.
