Inspiring young people to learn and achieve; and, community environmental projects, in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland

Northern Powergrid Fund at the Community Foundation invites applications under two main headings:

Inspiring young people aged 12 – 18 years to learn and achieve – this includes out of school educational projects that raise aspiration and support young people’s progression in their academic or vocational life.

Environmental projects – small improvements to community buildings that reduces its carbon footprint.

Criteria: In addition to the usual Community Foundation criteria (see website)

  • Must be a registered charity based and working in Tyne & Wear and/or Northumberland
  • The amount applied for must be the full amount to enable the project to go ahead (not part funding for a larger project where the balance has not yet been secured).


Will support:

  • Sessional activities/project costs
  • Sessional staff costs and volunteer expenses
  • Project resources and equipment
  • Professional fees.
