The Sir Tom Cowie Fund gives disadvantaged and disabled children and young people in Sunderland opportunities to fulfil potential, improve skills and explore talents. Sir Tom’s recognised that not all young people had the same life chances, but that by engaging with charities and community organisations, they could overcome barriers.
The Fund is seeking applications from Sunderland-based charities and community organisations for work with disadvantaged or disabled children and young people in the city, and their families. The focus is addressing poverty and helping with recovery following the pandemic, for example through learning, employment or training opportunities, or though mental health or family support.
Organisations must meet the Foundation’s usual criteria and have an annual income of not less than £50,000 and not more than £500,000 in the most recent financial year.
