‘Mackem Money’ will award £130,000 in grants, agreed by a panel of residents from across Sunderland who have lived experience of the challenges faced by local communities. The panel has prioritised funding for local groups that are:
• supporting inclusive communities
bringing people together, building social connections
• creating opportunities for healthier and happier people
play, physical activity, healthy food
• raising aspirations
building confidence and ambition, developing skills, encouraging achievement

Who can apply?
The fund supports organisations, based and working in Sunderland, that have an income under £250,000, with priority for those under £100,000.

How much can we apply for?
• For projects in 2024
£2,000 to £5,000: deadline for applications – 22 December 2023
