About The FB and PFB Lough Fund

The FB & PFB Lough Fund was established in 2018 with a generous legacy gift to the Community Foundation from Frank and Pat Lough. It exists to support charitable activity in north Northumberland, within a 20-mile radius of Berwick Town Hall, on the south side of the England/Scotland border.

Applications are invited for a grant of up to £10,000 per annum, for a maximum of three years.

Applications should demonstrate how a grant will be used to tackle disadvantage, strengthen communities, or make the area a better place to live.

Applications to support environmental activity in the Fund’s area of benefit are also encouraged. Examples of activities that could be considered include re-wilding, recycling and repurposing, awareness raising, and improving the energy efficiency of a building. Projects such as community beautification are not a priority, and it is recommended that applicants read our 2024 Vital Signs report on the environment before applying:

Due to an anticipated high demand for support, if you are applying for the full £10,000 per annum over any number of years, please include in your application how your request may be scalable to a smaller grant amount
