The power funding our communities

The Community Foundation awards around £0.5 million each year from its seven community benefit funds from wind farms across Northumberland. With four of the community benefit funds now open, this provides a great opportunity for communities in including Acklington, Broomhill, North and South Charlton, Cresswell, Ellington, Eglingham Parish, Ford and Etal, Lowick, Red Row, Stobswood, Widdrington, and Wooler.

The EDF Energy Renewables Barmoor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

Supporting charities, community and voluntary projects within a 10 km radius of the Barmoor Wind Farm.

  • Grant Range: £250 to £10,000, in exceptional circumstances applications up to £20,000 may be considered
  • Closing Date: 25 February 2019

The EDF ER Green Rigg Windfarm Community Benefit Fund

Supporting community groups within a 10-mile Radius of the Green Rigg Wind Farm.

  • Grant Range: £250 to £5,000, up to £9,000 in exceptional circumstances
  • Closing Date: 28 January 2019

Ventient Sisters and North Steads Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

Supporting community groups within a 5km radius of the Sisters and North Steads Wind Farm, with priority given to those within a 3km radius.

  • Grant Range: £500- £10,000
  • Closing Date: Monday 4 February 2019

Innogy Renewables Middlemoor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

Supports applications from organisations and individuals that benefit the residents of Eglingham Parish, Northumberland.

  • Grant Range: £250 to £81,000 for groups and £250 to £2,000 for individuals
  • Closing Date: 15 February 2019
