If U Care Share is an organisation based in Lumley, near Chester-Le-Street in County Durham whose objectives are suicide prevention, intervention and support; training in mental health awareness and the provision of assistance to families that have been affected by suicide. They were awarded £7,429 towards their suicide prevention service from the County Durham & Darlington Community Safety Fund at County Durham Community Foundation.

“Our prevention service seeks to support those who may feel at their lowest and least able to contribute to community life”, says Sandra Emery, Operations Manager at the charity. “For every death by suicide research indicates 6-10 people are affected.”
