Voluntary Sector Entrepreneur of the Year

Ward Hadaway Logo

"The most important qualities of social entrepreneurs are courage and resilience. Their courage allows them to champion a cause and to take risks others wouldn’t dare to take. Their resilience enables them to endure the obstacles and setbacks along the way to achieving transformational social change for as many as possible, as soon as possible."  Alliance Magazine

The Ward Hadaway Voluntary Sector Entrepreneur of the Year Award is presented to an individual employed by a voluntary organisation in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland who has:

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and commitment
  • Built a successful and effective organisation
  • A sustained record of achievement
  • Outstanding leadership skills

The award worth £10,000 is presented every second year at the Community Foundation AGM. The winner is also presented with a personalised glass bowl, handmade by Jane Charles.

The next Award will be made in October 2008 and we are accepting nominations now. To download the full details click here
