Included Communities Fund Evaluation
An independent evaluation of the Included Communities Fund (ICF) for 2005 – 2007 shows the difference that the fund has made to the voluntary and community sector in Tyne & Wear. The ICF was set up to allow an easier way for VCS organisations to access regeneration monies for both revenue and capital projects. The evaluation was commissioned to show the impact of programme in relation to social and economic regeneration.
The report concludes that the ICF has been a highly effective grants programme, with all targets met or exceeded. It has allowed organisations to tackle work and training priorities, giving people more opportunities to become qualified or employed. The fund has been well managed by all agencies involved, with the potential of it being a demonstration model of good practice in grant making.
