To set up an Acorn Fund at the Community Foundation requires a commitment to donate a minimum of £1,000 per year. For a standard tax payer, we claim 28% Gift Aid back on your donation so £1,000 a year will only require a donation of £65 per month.

For higher rate tax payers, you claim additional tax relief on your tax return. It will cost you £50 per month.

We accept gifts of shares, which can be a very tax effective way to give.

When your Fund reaches £25,000 your endowment becomes a charitable Fund amd you can start to award annual grants.

You can start now by choosing to support an exisiting Fund by donating the income to one of our Fundraising Funds.

If you establish an Acorn Fund in your lifetime you can add to your Fund in your will. This ensures that more grants can be awarded each year to the causes close to your heart.
