The Rose Joicey Fund is a small Community Foundation fund that offers a limited number of one-off grants that can be used to support the cost of holidays or short breaks for individuals and families in need from Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham.
Organisations that support individuals and families in need are able to apply on their behalf.
Applicants must be eligible to apply for a grant from the Community Foundation, and should provide up to date accounts, a governing document, a copy of a recent bank statement, and copies of organisational policies relating to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
The fund will support all reasonable costs towards a holiday or short break (one trip per individual or family), such as travel, food and accommodation. A cost breakdown, and details of destinations, should be provided.
Our grant does not have to cover the full costs, but the application should state where the balance of the costs will come from.
Specific individuals and families do not need to be named, but there should be an indication in the application form of how many individuals or families will be supported, what specific disadvantage(s) they face, and how the trips will make a difference to their lives.
Organisations can apply on behalf of one or more individuals / families. The minimum (total) grant size is £250 and the maximum (total) grant size is £2,500.
Each application will be considered on its own merits, but it may be helpful to know that, in the grants made by this fund in previous years, the average grant per family of four has been in the region of £300.
