Newcastle Culture Investment Fund celebrates the power of arts and culture to have a direct impact on the health and well-being of Newcastle residents. While achieving that, grants develop Newcastle’s rich, diverse and accessible independent cultural sector.
This fund would not be possible without the partnership and support from Newcastle City Council. The fund provides revenue and project funding to a wide portfolio of art forms. Successful grantees maintain the vision for culture, address health and well-being, create good quality jobs and develop people’s skills, support communities to look after each other and their environment and tackle inequality.
The fund awards £600,000 a year and made its first grants in April 2015. Core revenue grants are awarded in three-year cycles and project grants up to £10,000 are awarded annually.
This fund has its own Crowdfunding platform where Newcastle projects can receive match funding, training and promotion for their campaign. All projects on the platform are pre-approved on the condition they meet their target. For more information about Crowdfund Newcastle Culture click here.
