Charities and trusts
The Community Foundation provides an effective means for other charities and trusts to meet their aims by working with us.
We have helped several charities and trusts that have decided to wind up their affairs. In some cases they could no longer pursue their charitable objectives, sometimes their income was no longer sufficient to continue grant making or support administration, or their trustees were looking to retire. In such circumstances, the Community Foundation is able to continue the original charities’ work by assuming management of their assets.
In other cases, charities have established funds at the Community Foundation to help them reach areas and address needs they might not otherwise be able to.
