The Virgin Money Community Fund at the Community Foundation is part of its £1 million commitment to support local communities in the North East.  The community fund has two key aims:

  1. to help young people achieve more by overcoming barriers such as homelessness, mental ill health and low educational attainment, and
  2. to support adults and young people into work through training, skills development or work based learning or become more enterprising through schemes that support people to develop their own businesses.

Jo Barnett, Head of Social Enterprise at Virgin Money said:

“Virgin Money takes its social responsibilities very seriously in all of the communities in which we operate as we seek to deliver on our ambition to make everyone better off.  Through our Community Fund, we are trying to help give people in the North East the support they need to overcome barriers and thrive. We are delighted to invest in local communities through the Community Foundation and we are looking forward to what we can achieve together.”
