Groundwork North East – “Creating a buzz” Project.

Established in 2006, the Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) is a grant-making fund dedicated to supporting and inspiring communities in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland to tackle environmental issues in their local area.

Grants of up to £20,000 are available to support environmental projects that have a positive impact on the environment and also show how they will have a positive impact on the quality of life of communities. They need to be able to demonstrate one or more the following outcomes:

Current funding partners include the Shears Foundation, Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, as well as individual and corporate donors. Currently the fund secures and distributes funds annually. We are seeking to create an endowment fund which will underpin this work in perpetuity.

You can give to LEAF by donating either online here, or contact Katie Wellstead on 0191 2220945. By donating to LEAF you will be joining the increasing network of donors who want to demonstrate their commitment to their local environment and their local communities.
