Community Ventures

Community Ventures is a Community Foundation programme that provides in-depth support to voluntary organisations in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, helping the sector to be as effective, responsive and resilient as possible.

The programme can provide you with time and expertise from experienced senior leaders from the region’s business, public and charitable sectors.

Our Community Ventures experts work, pro bono, with organisations over a sustained period of time, usually up to a year, and can help you identify challenges and opportunities, embed new working practices, and think afresh about your role in society and your relationship with service users.

Organisations that benefit from the scheme are also given the opportunity to network and share good practice with one another, at our Community Ventures Alumni events.

The following is a general list of the areas in which Community Ventures can help you. Using this as a starting point, we can put together tailored support packages based on your needs and the availability of our experts.

Community Ventures partners act as critical friends, challenging you to think differently and do things differently. They won’t do the work for you, and you should be ready, willing and able to commit significant amounts of your own time to this work. It will be worth it!
