Play Your Part Fund
What is Play Your Part?
For many young people the chance to volunteer at major international sports events is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that can help them broaden their horizons, acquire new skills and raise aspirations. But for some, the cost of taking part in volunteering opportunities is simply prohibitive, leaving many excluded.
Play Your Part is raising money from regional partners, businesses and members of the public to help support young people aged 18-25 to take up volunteering opportunities at major international sport events held in the UK in coming years, including the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The donors who have supported the Fund so far include: The Sir James Knott Trust, The Greggs Foundation; Business and Enterprise North East; The Leighton Group; Sage UK; Sir David and Lady Chapman; Northumbrian Water, Ward Hadaway, Gateshead Council, Darlington Council, Durham Council, Redcar & Cleveland Council and Sunderland Council.
