We have an exceptional opportunity to join our Board as our next treasurer. The person we appoint will help shape and steer the work of one of the region’s largest and most successful charities, and the biggest community foundation in the UK.

The treasurer is an appointed officer of the Board of trustees. Alastair Conn has been our treasurer since 2015. He will retire in autumn 2018 having served the maximum permitted term, so we are seeking to co-opt someone to join the Board early in 2018 with a view to succeeding Alastair.  The main role of the Treasurer is to chair our Investment Committee and provide expertise to fellow trustees around the finance and endowment assets of the Foundation. Day-to-day finance and investment management is the responsibility of the Chief Finance and Operating Officer and her team. Trustees are not remunerated but reasonable expenses are covered.

The person we are looking for will be a qualified accountant with understanding of investments and finance, experience of chairing committees and able to work in a non-executive capacity supporting senior staff. Good, independent judgement and the ability to constructively challenge professional advisors is also needed.
