Corporate Giving

Businesses in North East England have a proud history of supporting local communities whose residents are their neighbours, customers and employees. The Community Foundation provides these companies with effective mechanisms for giving back to the area, and now with the Community First match Corporate Giving can be more effective than ever. In 2012, Ringtons was able to use the Community First match to reach a total of £1m in donations to the Ringtons Fund which was established in 1995 and has awarded over £253,000 to projects in the North East.

Alexandra and Colin Smith celebrate the Ringtons Fund reaching £1m at North Tyneside Disability Forum

Colin Smith, a member of the Ringtons family and Director of the business, marked the occasion in 2012 by visiting North Tyneside Disability Forum with his daughter Alexandra Smith.

He said: “Ringtons has always had the aim of reaching the £1m target with our community fund at the Community Foundation and we are delighted that we have finally been able to achieve it. Since 1995, it has been fantastic to be able to see the difference grants from our fund order neurontin online have made to local community and voluntary organisations, and North Tyneside Disability Forum is no exception. They have a fantastic facility here which is being run by a passionate staff team providing meaningful activities for disabled people.”

Lisa Cappleman, Head of Philanthropy Development at the Community Foundation, explains the scheme:

“Community First is a Government programme that means for every £2 donated into endowment funds at the Community Foundation a further £1 can be added as match.  Donations of all sizes from individuals, families and businesses are all eligible for match from Community First or through our dedicated Give2 area funds. It’s a great opportunity for donors to grow their philanthropy or even get started on their giving journey.”

By becoming a corporate donor, you can benefit from free annual corporate membership of the Foundation. Through Community First businesses can set up a named fund, use Community First to grow an existing fund in a more effective way, or donate to one of our themed funds.
