Grants of up to £50k available for housing projects in the North of England

UK Community Foundations is supporting Nationwide Building Society to deliver a programme to help local communities provide better homes. Applications for funding in northern England will be distributed via County Durham Community Foundation.

The programme was launched to tackle severe issues around housing. More and more families lack a safe and secure place fit to call home. Too few properties are being built, rental stock can be outdated and in poor condition and there’s a lack of support for the vulnerable.

Nationwide Building Society is meeting this challenge head-on by supporting projects aimed at providing decent places to live in communities which need it most.

Making a dent in the housing crisis will take a team effort. So Nationwide Building Society is inviting local housing charities and causes with great ideas to apply for grants. Nationwide Building Society is also forming Community Boards: panels of Nationwide Building Society members, employees and housing experts who will shortlist the most promising applications. Members then choose which of these we get behind with our funding and know-how.

Are you a charity or similar organisation with a housing project that needs funding? County Durham Community Foundation is looking for innovative and scalable solutions that will make a real impact at a local level with support of up to £50,000 available plus expert support and time.
